Recent
studies have shown that resistance-training
programs have the ability to turn
back the clocks on our bodies- reducing
fat while increasing lean muscle,
reversing bone loss and increasing
energy and balance. This is good news
for the estimated 42.8 million Americans
now training with free weights, which
is an eight percent increase free
weight usage since 1995. Americans
are demonstrating a desire for more
toned bodies to compliment standard
cardiovascular workouts and GROUP POWER
successfully takes this concept into
the group fitness area with a time-efficient,
fun workout. |
|
Although
the program attracts both men and
women, GROUP POWER is particularly refreshing
for women who have been searching
for an alternative to the male-dominated
weight room environment. According
the Journal of the American Medical
Association, after a year of strength
training twice a week, women’s bodies
were 15-20 years more youthful. |
| After just 12 weeks of strength training
twice a week, men and women can experience
approximately a six pound adjustment
in their lean body to fat ratio. |
|
GROUP POWER instructors
undergo extensive training to qualify
for teaching the program. Instructors
complete a three day training course
and spend four to six weeks perfecting
their teaching skills. Instructors
are assessed by video to ensure consistent
delivery of each GROUP POWER class. Each
instructor must attend regional quarterly
workshops where they receive continuing
education and a new release of GROUP POWER
music and choreography to deliver
safe and effective classes for the
consumer. |
Class times for GROUP POWER are scheduled
early morning, lunch and evenings.
